Guide

Quickstart

Create an API key and make your first company lookup.

  1. 1

    Request access

    During the beta we set keys up by hand. Email mail@firmainfo.se with the product you are building, which datasets you need and roughly what volume. We normally reply within one working day and start with a free Trial, no card required. If you want to test connectivity right now, the open resources further down this page work without a key.

  2. 2

    Keep the key server-side

    The key is shown only once, when it is created. Store it in a secret manager or an environment variable, and never put it in client-side code or a public repository.

  3. 3

    Send the request

    Put the key in the Authorization: Bearer HTTP header and call any resource under /api/v1.

First request
export FIRMAINFO_API_KEY="fi_live_…"

curl "https://firmainfo.se/api/v1/companies/5560125790" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $FIRMAINFO_API_KEY"

A successful call returns a plain JSON object with the most commonly used registry fields:

200 OK
{
  "id": "5560125790",
  "registration_number": "556012-5790",
  "name": "Aktiebolaget Volvo",
  "legal_form": "AB",
  "status": "active",
  "registration_date": "1915-05-05",
  "address": { "postal_code": "405 08", "city": "GÖTEBORG", "country": "SE" },
  "primary_industry_code": "70100",
  "listing_status": "listed",
  "has_financials": true
}

Test the connection without a key

The /health and /status resources are public. Use them to check networking, service state and current data freshness before you try a protected resource.

bash
curl "https://firmainfo.se/api/v1/status"
